Ms. Cynthia Brady
¡Hola! My name Cynthia Brady. I came to Galveston from Houston. My family vacations were always spent in Galveston. I am thrilled to now be able to live and work here. During my teaching career I have had the unique experience of teaching all levels from PreK through high school. I started teaching at Ball High School in 2015. I received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston where I majored in French and Spanish. I earned scholarships to study in both Saltillo, Mexico and Avignon, France. I have traveled in Mexico, Central America and France. I love the experience of communication and culture that comes with studying new languages. I believe that learning a second language gives the student a well rounded perspective on his or her world. The ability to communicate in Spanish, even at the most basic level, allows students to have opportunities for jobs, friendships and increased academic success. In Spanish class we experience four important language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing. Leaning a second language is a challenge that takes commitment and practice, practice, practice! I love sharing these challenges with my students. I love seeing their progress from syllables to sentences! Knowledge of Spanish can be a lifelong skill that will serve the student well into their future. I look forward to seeing you “en la clase de español”!
