Mrs. Catherine Rogers
Counselor - STEM Community
Hi, my name is Catherine Rogers.
I have been teaching at Ball High since 2014 and started as a School Counselor in 2019. My mission is to prepare students for life after high school. I hope to teach kids the problem solving skills needed to succeed in life, and become an independent individual. In order to do this, I pride myself on educating and challenging all students in a safe and open environment.
I am proud to be a Ball High School Alumni, Class of 2008. Once a Tor, Always a Tor! After graduation, I attended Galveston College for a year before transferring to the University of Texas - at Austin. HOOK’EM HORNS! I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree by majoring in Economics with a minor in business administration. After college, I worked at ANICO on the island for two years. The cubical life wasn’t for me, I decided to pursue teaching. I achieved my teaching certificate in mathematics 8-12, and I was on my way to making a difference in students’ lives. I chose to continue my education and to attend Lamar University. I earned my graduate degree in education with an emphasis on school counseling.
When I am not in school, I enjoy traveling, going to the beach with my dogs, and staying fit by doing CrossFit. I also am an avid sports fan, and I am always rooting for the Houston teams, especially the Houston Texans. I love living in Galveston and I am very happy to be working at the beach!
